Position Description

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and efficient Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Urgent Care team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centered care for a broad range of acute illnesses and minor injuries in a fast-paced clinical setting. This role requires clinical autonomy, critical thinking, and a strong focus on patient experience and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a variety of non-emergent conditions including respiratory infections, musculoskeletal injuries, lacerations, and minor illnesses

  • Perform minor procedures such as suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, and wound care

  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests including labs, X-rays, and ECGs

  • Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with clinical guidelines and state regulations

  • Provide patient education and discharge instructions tailored to individual needs

  • Document clinical findings and treatment plans accurately and timely in the EMR (Athena)

  • Collaborate with supervising physicians and other healthcare professionals as needed

  • Maintain compliance with clinic protocols and HIPAA regulations

Qualifications:

  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Texas

  • National board certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)

  • BLS (required); ACLS and PALS (preferred or willing to obtain)

  • At least 1 year of experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or primary care strongly preferred

  • Proficiency in performing minor procedures

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends
