No experience needed and we will walk you through every step of the way. This is a great opportunity to network with other nurse practitioners and it looks great on your resume! Elections will be held in April. Two board positions are available: president-elect and treasurer.
President-elect (Vice president)
- Collaborates with the President to learn the role of the President, to become familiar with the programs of the Association and its governance, and to develop and facilitate officer transition
- Assists and supports the President as needed and plans for the Presidential year
- The President-Elect shall automatically become President at the end of the term as President-Elect
- Serve as a member of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee
- Attend meetings of the Board of Directors, Executive Committee and membership
- Accept responsibilities delegated by the President, such as representing the President at meetings, and any other duties as appropriate to the presidency
- Two year term starting June 1, 2017 – 1 year as president-elect and 1 year as president
Treasurer
- Member of Executive Committee
- Serve as the custodian of the chapter’s funds
- Monitor finances of the chapter –revenue/expenses
- Maintain chapter’s bank account by performing monthly bank account reconciliations
- Maintain financial records and adhere to NAPNAP’s record retention policy
- Prepare financial reports to review at your chapter board & membership meetings
- Advise board on investment options available
- Review & understand the federal IRS guidelines governing a501(c)(6)
- Responsible for maintaining your chapter treasurer handbook and ensure the book is passed onto the incoming Treasurer
- Two year term starting June 1, 2017
Appointed positions
We are also looking for a community service chair and a PNP student liaison.
Community Service Chair
- Organizes charitable and community service events for group attendance
- Helps inform the group about community service and volunteer activities happening locally
PNP Student Liaison
- Serve as a representative for PNP students in the central Texas area
- Facilitate communication between students and NAPNAP organization
- Promote and encourage PNP students to become active members of NAPNAP
