APP Position Job Opening

Full time APP position at Dell Children's Medical Center with the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) team, employment through UT Austin Dell Medical School. 

This is an inpatient and outpatient interdisciplinary team of NPs (3), physicians (2), therapists, nurses, neuropsychologist, child life specialist, social worker, etc. NPs generally work 4-10 hour days per week starting at 8 am but with some flexibility in hours. Some overnight call (from home) for nursing questions is required and compensated. We rotate covering weekend inpatient hospital rounds every 5-6 weeks per provider (with compensation).

We manage medically complex children once stabilized in the hospital setting with a focus on intensive therapy to achieve their functional goals for cognition, ADLs, and mobility. Diagnoses are a mix of medical and surgical, mostly neurological disorders. Acquired brain injury and spinal cord injury are common diagnoses. We also manage a variety of patients in our PM&R outpatient clinic following hospital discharge and if interested, in multidisciplinary clinics. We are a close, supportive team of providers in a growing PM&R program. 

Acute care PNP preferred, but primary care is acceptable with inpatient NP and/or pediatric nursing experience. At least 2 years of PNP experience is preferred. Salary is competitive and based on experience.
